I’m often asked how I know if it’s my guide or my mind talking. It sounds complicated, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
Step 1 is to practice daily meditation. Meditation helps you raise your vibration, which makes it easier to connect with your team in the spirit world.
The other wonderful impact meditation has is the opportunity to quiet your mind. When you focus on your breath and allow yourself to slow down and rest inside your body, you most likely still have a chattering mind. It’s that loud noise in your head that may make you frustrated or discouraged in your meditation.
The good thing about it is you learn how the voice in your head makes you feel and perhaps what it sounds like. You then set the intention not to follow your thoughts and to accept them and let them go. It takes a bit of practice. Over time, you’ll see that you become more accepting and aware of your thoughts during your everyday life and meditation.
Step 2 is to make yourself available by communicating clearly that you would like to become aware of and connect with your spirit guide. Visualize a rim around your aura and remove it for your guide to come closer and to blend with your energy field. Each guide has its own calling card. A calling card may be a physical sensation, such as a touch, a change of temperature, or a breeze. Then you’ll know that you have the contact.
If you’d like to confirm, ask your guide to step out of your energy field and then come closer again. You’ll discover that you get the same calling card each time you connect with that guide.
Practice patience, and don’t have any expectations of how it should be on your first try of connecting and blending with your guide. It allows you to be more relaxed and sensitive.
Step 3 is to distinguish if it’s your guide or your mind talking to you. When your guide is talking to you, it will come through as a feeling, words, or images. A contact with your guide will always be supported by a feeling of well-being. You’ll also notice an intelligence behind it.
Let’s look further into what “an intelligence” means. Yes, you and I are smart people and driven in this fast-paced world. But how often does your mind make you feel small, unsure, or not good enough? You ask your guide for a contact and help when you need a little extra support.
Your spirit guide may guide you outside your comfort zone or open you up to see your current situation from a different perspective. You may receive words of encouragement. Most of all, you’ll always feel love. If your mind is talking to you, most likely you won’t feel the love.
Your team in the spirit world will never make a final decision in your life because you have free will. You’re responsible for yourself.
